Natacha

(pronounced Natasha)

My name is Natacha and I am a first generation Haitian-American creative.

My creative journey into the world of art began with a camera in hand over 30 years ago. As a child, I was introduced to portraiture photography by my father, André Romain, a multi-talented creative whose artistry shaped my earliest understanding of light, framing, and presence. Through the lens of photography, I first began to explore the nuanced beauty of black women, their grace, and their power through portraiture. I learned that art is not simply about what is seen. It is about what is honored. That foundation has never left me.

However, it was the advent of AI technology that truly transformed my artistic vision. I have never had talent to paint nor draw, so this technology has become my paintbrush, canvas, and chisel, allowing me to sculpt light and shadow, color and form in ways I never thought possible.

I understand that AI art can be polarizing. The conversations around authorship and tradition matter. For me, however, this medium has been cathartic and liberating. It has opened new and exciting forms of creativity in my life, allowing me to expand my visual art. The technology is the medium. The vision is mine. I guide every concept, refine every detail, and shape every final image with intention. By merging my photographic prowess with the boundless possibilities of AI, I have been creating ethereal art that transcends the limitations of the physical world that I hope you’ll love!

Creativity evolves. Mediums change. The lineage remains.

Black women are the muse and heartbeat of my work. I create to highlight our beauty, strength, dignity, and resilience in a world that rarely reflects us fully or fairly. My art exists as affirmation and recognition, revealing what has always been worthy of being seen. My art is not just a representation of black women; it's a celebration of their spirit. Each piece is a carefully crafted symphony of colors, textures, and forms, designed to evoke a sense of wonder, inspiration, empowerment, and beauty. I see my work as a bridge between the real and the imagined, a space where the ethereal beauty of black womanhood can be honored and exalted. My creations are not just visual experiences; they are invitations to explore, to feel, and to reflect on the diverse expressions of beauty and strength that define black womanhood.

In a world where the narratives of black women are often marginalized or overlooked, my wish is that my art stands as a beacon of inclusion and representation. If my art makes someone feel seen, affirmed, or empowered, then it has fulfilled its purpose.

I hope that through my work, I can contribute to a broader understanding and appreciation of the beauty and resilience that black women embody. My sincere hope is that with every piece of art I create, I weave a new thread into the tapestry of black female excellence, creating a legacy of art that honors the indomitable spirit of black women everywhere!
